Historic racing in Monaco C´ôte D´Azur
For car fans Monaco has more to offer than just Formula 1: At the "9th Grand Prix Historique" from May 9 to 11 drivers from 20 countries present their driving skills in racing cars from 1920 to 1970. The 3.34-kilometer route is the circuit the cars of the Formula 1 race on May 25 drive along.
The historic Grand Prix, which takes place only once every two years, consists of a total of seven races in various categories Organised every two years by the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM), it's a success for the spectators that come more and more each year.
Cars are distributed into 7 races for the 9th edition of the Grand Prix Historique :
Series A : Pre-war "Voiturettes" and Grand-Prix Cars, from 1939 maximum
Series B : Formula 1 and Formula 2 Grand Prix Cars, manufactured before 1961
Series C : Sports Cars that ran from 1952 to 1955 (included)

The oldest vehicles starting in the field of Grand Prix cars and Voiturettes are from the 1920s and 30s, and a real eye catcher. Panellists taking part in the fourth Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum on May 9 include three-time Monaco Grand Prix winner and racing legend Sir Stirling Moss OBE.
He will be joined by five-times Le Mans 24 Hours winner and ex-Formula 1 driver Derek Bell MBE, ex-Formula 1 racer and Grand Prix winner Jochen Mass, and successful endurance racer Romain Dumas to discuss the broad subject of 'dream circuits'.
The lively discussion will be chaired by motorsport commentator Henry Hope-Frost.
The first Hesketh Formula One car, driven by James Hunt and Alan Jones, will be auctioned off May 10 at the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique. The car is expected to sell for €350.000 - €650.000 (483,070 - 897,930).
One of only three Heskeths Formula 1 cars to be built, this car took James Hunt to his famous victory at the 1974 Silverstone International Trophy Race.
The car predicted to fetch the most money at the Grand Prix Monaco Historique auction is a very rare and elusive Maserati racing car. Originally, this Maserati 450S Prototype was driven by Stirling Moss during the Mille Miglia back in 1956.
