The chateau is set on the edge of a small historical town. The property comprise of large garden with the chateau and closed farm yard with historical barns and buildings. The first record about  dates back to year 1088. Later on there is mention of several manor houses and forts and that is until 1694. In year 1724 are the local farm yards bought by Lords from Rajov ( Jan Jáchym Plachta ) and his oldest son František Josef starts in year 1744 building of the chateau on the original location of Velkodvorská fort. The remains of basements of this fort are still visible under the main chateau. The building work took place between 1744 and 1750 and along with the chateau the distillery, brewery and other farm buildings were built. Also a large garden with large amount of statues from workshop of Matyas Braun and his followers. I 1860 the side wings are added by architect ( Jan Josef Wirch ). In the axe of the chateau the pavilion was built and garden and farmyard were fenced by decorated wall. After the fire in 1817 when only outside walls remained and vaulted ground floor, the renovations starts in keeping of late baroque style with some classicism components on the facade and in parts of interior. The chateau also gets a new different look of the roof. From then on there was a large amount of different owners. Over the communist regime the property belonged to local state farm. In that time period lot of changes took place and not very good restorations were done to the interiors of the chateau. Large amount of historical features were removed to satisfy the needs of a firm. The current owner is now slowly renovating the chateau and tries to recover it's formal glory.
