The castle is standing at the spot where originally used to be a monastry which was built aproximatly in the 13th century. Previous owners find a peace of historical furniture in a Budapest museum which is an aproval object that the castle was built not late than 1660. In 1770 the castle was owned by Mednansky family, a powerfull noble family in former Hungarian Kingdom. After the Mednansky clan died out the property became a government possesion. In the 19th century the castle was bought by a present owners. After a big fire in the begining of the 20th century castle was reconstructed. The original vaulted ceilings are preserve in the cellar, the rest of the castle has regular flat ceilings. Castle has originally 35 rooms, it is spreaded on aprox. 2016 m2, has two floors and cellar, there is a possibility of enlarging the usable space by creating some rooms in the attic. The castle is located in a nice large 3,11 Ha park. |
