Im interesting mainly in that how safe are the houses there. Its because the earthquick 5 years ago I think ( or 6) when the reason all the buildings to fall down was the bad way they had been build. _________________ http://www.propertyvarna.info

I assume they have the same regualtions as we have here in Italy since a couple of years - we have to build earthquake save . In Turkey some regions are far more hit by heavy earthquakes and if the houses would be built properly and earthquake resistant , lots of lives could be saved . They have - Im absolutely sure they do. The problem at that time was that the builders to safe money mixed the concrete with more sand that it has to be. So the problem is is the control enought to avoid that. _________________ http://www.propertyvarna.info

Thanks for your interest. The best investment area in and around Antalya is to own a property. The prices have been increasing relatively higher than any other investment instrument in a short time.
The best idea would be to have a building built whether a detached house or bloks of apartments.

Hi Riviera,
The plots starts from around 80.000 Euro for a detached house and rises according to its distance to beach and amenities as well as the town they are in. For instance in Kemer, Kas, Kalkan and further west, the prices for plots are relatively higher than those in east of Antalya like Belek, Alanya.
Plot prices in Belek are relatively lower but have been increasing. (Belek is famous for its golf courses)
Also the planning permission in terms of percentage of the plot varies among the towns. In Kemer you should have at least 2000 sqr.mtr in order to built a house within %10 of the plot in total with 2 storeys, however in Belek it is 40% of the plot in total with 2 storeys and you can have plots starting from 400 sqr.mtr for a detached house.
The cost for construction per sqr.mtr varies between 500 Euro and 1000 Euro and +.

Yes it is compulsory here in Turkiye to make buildings with earthquake resistant since 1999. Buildings have to be constructed according to some structure criterias. Otherwise they cannot have residence permit.
